Kindergarten Transition
We are excited to welcome our 2026 Kindergarten students to visit our school for Maryland Munchkin sessions. Children and families will engage in some hands-on and play-based activities. We believe that exposing our future students to school life early will set them up to have a successful transition to school the following year.
Maryland Munchkins is held Tuesdays from 9:30am-10:30am starting 29th July 2025.
Children need to be enrolled at Maryland PS for 2026 to attend. Parents are able to 'Drop & Go'.
We look forward to welcoming you and your child to Maryland Public School. Contact us to talk to our team or book a tour.

We are looking forward to having all of our new Kindergarten friends join us at school!

The Kindergarten Enrolment interview provides us with an opportunity to get to know you and your child a little better and discuss how we can make transition to our school a smooth one. It also is a great opportunity to discuss any questions you have about starting school. Children are not required to attend these interviews.
Interviews will occur on specific days during Term 3 and Term 4, 2025 with Miss Clunes, Mrs Kelly or another staff member.
How to book your child's interview:
- Once you have completed your child's enrolment and submitted your 100 points, please inquire at our office to schedule a time.
- In-Person interviews: You will then meet with Miss Clunes or Mrs Kelly for 10 minutes to discuss your child's transition to Kindergarten. Children are not required to attend these interviews.
- Phone interviews: If you have selected a phone interview, a staff member will call you at your allocated time.
We know that starting kindergarten can be a big step—not only for students but for their parents too! You may have questions about enrolment, transition to school or the importance of attendance.
That is why we have created a page with all of the information you need to help your child have a strong and successful start at Maryland Public School!
